Interview with Jasmine Jordan

You released your music video for Time Travel just over a month ago are you happy with the amount of exposure that the video has brought you so far?
I’m excited at how quickly the views went up during the initial launch of the single and video. I’m very appreciative to all those who watched and shared the video from the very beginning. Hitting the 14k mark was amazing! I look forward to seeing how we can continue to get more eyes on the video and feel that we can reach even greater exposure now.

For people who haven’t already watched the video can you describe the video?
Time Travel is an abstract video shot in the desert that highlights the dynamics of a relationship that is no longer in a good/healthy place. You really get more detail from the main character through the pain and frustration seen in her eyes, and more importantly, through the lyrics she is singing. She looks at the male character with emptiness as she wishes she could go back in time and alter the course of their relationship.

Where did the layout idea for the video come from?
I came across some photos online of desert landscapes that sparked the inspiration for this video. I brought this to the director of the video, Andric Booker, who made everything come to life.

Where there any difficulties recording the video?
When we arrived on location, in the middle of the desert, we locked the one key we had in the trunk of the car! Mind you, this was before we shot anything. Needless to say, I was in a bit of panic. But with some quick thinking and a little team work, we managed to find a way to get the key out and still shoot the video with the remaining light we had left.

Is there anything that you would like to have changed in the video?
No there aren’t any changes I would make to the video. Andric Booker and his team did an amazing job with my first music video!

Have you run into any difficulties creating the Time Travel project?
The biggest hurdle creating Time Travel has been financing the project. There are so many costs involved in putting this together. Up until about a month ago, I had been self-financing, to the best of my ability, this entire project. Now with the help of my supporters, I am raising funds through my Indiegogo campaign (you can find the link below)!

How many songs are going to appear on the EP?
4 original songs

·Are you still making any final decisions with the songs?
-No, we are officially done with all final decisions.

Have there been any drastic changes to the songs?
-There were no major changes to songs, but we did write “possibilities” last minute which ended up making the cut as the final song.

How extensive are your plans for touring in support for the Time Travel EP
I have a few select dates that I will be announcing soon and I hope to add a lot more dates to that list for 2015.

Do you have any expectations for the albums success?
Overall, I’m just excited to finally have my music available for everyone to listen to. It has been two years in the making and I’m ready to share it and continue working. I hope to connect with as many new people as possible with this tour!

You started a indiegogo campaign for the ep how did you decide to use this format and are you happy with the results so far? When looking through the crowdfunding options, I found that Indiegogo gave me the most flexibility for my campaign. I am happy with the results so far, but hope to raise more and reach my goal in the remaining few weeks.
