On August 12th You are bringing your “Weapons of Mass Disruption” Tour to Kingston.
The Month of August has you guys travelling across Canada what made Kingston a point of return for you guys?
We have always loved Kingston. It is one of the places that embraced EC early on in our career.
What should people expect to hear from Econoline Crush on August 12th?
The audience can expect the usual EC show. High energy with all the songs they love from all of our recordings.
Going back through your discography for the upcoming Tour is there any song in particular that you had you guys were having difficulties putting the pieces back together?
A lot of the material on Brand New History has been omitted due to a number of issues. We just haven’t dug in to those songs due to time constraints and we have changed some of the way we approach the live show. It is a more stripped down version of live production and some of those songs require some new arrangements.
While working on songs for your upcoming tour was there any song in particular that brought back any deep seeded memories?
I always find Razorblades and Bandaides catches me off guard. It still has an emotional impact all these years later.
Econoline Crush has been through the thick and thin within the Canadian Music Industry and after all of the years that you have been active players in the industry what creates the strive in still making a push for Econoline Crush?
We love the music and now we are more than a band we are family. We have been through so much together. I just enjoy making music with these guys. There is a chemistry that we have that can’t be replicated. It is truly amazing when we lock in.
And Again going on the fact that you have been creating and playing music throughout the years has the current industry suppressed your current outlook of The Canadian Music Industry?
I honestly I have very little to do with the “music industry”. We do everything ourselves. It keeps the doubters at the door.
Returning to the road full time for the month of August what are you looking forward to the most as you tour Across Canada?
The fans!! We have so many amazing fans that have supported us over the years. We have built a great group of friends over our career and touring gives us a chance to reconnect.
As The tour progress do you feel you will start as a band creating and putting/going back the band and brand elements which made Econoline Crush such well known and talked about Canadian band in the mid to late 90’s Canadian Alternative Scene?
Most definitely!! This is the beginning of another chapter in our band’s history. We are writing and being creative which in turn makes all of feel better as human beings. This is who we are and this is what we do.
How fun and important is it for you guys to reconnect with your old fans while out on tour and especially creating new fans?
It is so important and in fact is one of the main reasons why we tour. We want to build a new following but maintaining old relationships is equally important.
Is there new material or older ideas that you have been quietly working on and will play on your tour or possibly recording?
We have a couple songs we may throw into the club shows. You always need to road test the material.
